Yeeha! It’s finally time! My long longed for holiday has finally arrived – woohoo! Three years ago I left NZ and Oz saying I’d be back in three years if I was still on my own, and here I am – with passport and ticket in hand
Sweet!
Tomorrow I set off for Bali, where I’ll catch up with my friend Sachie from UBC, whom I haven’t met since April 2000 – exciting! We’ll spend two days there together before she goes back to Singapore, and I stay for another two days. These are the only two days of my whole holiday that I have on my own. Because on Wednesday next week I meet my darling, my love, my honey bunch, in Melbourne Australia!
Yep, I have a beau. A wonderful, amazing, kind hearted, sweet souled, gourgeous man who for some reason has got it into his head that he loves me. Nutter! And I’m getting to feel the same way about him. And after our first date he bought himself a ticket to Oz. (I’m that good).
We spend one day, between flights, with my friend Kat in Melbourne before flying further East – to the magical wonders of Aotearoa. That’s New Zealand to you. We’ll be spending Christmas on Waiheke Island with my good friends Brooke and Russ, and their friends Glen and Vic; we’ve rented a bach and will be enjoying local wines on the sun deck overlooking the Hauraki Gulf. Can’t wait! (And A (that’s my darling) and I will of course be watching Popsens jul and Karl-Bertil – no Christmas without the latter!).
A few days before the new year we fly across the Tasman Sea again, this time to Adelaide, sorry – Radelaide. I hear it’s Rad
There we’ll spend almost a week with my old London crew: Dimi, Rudy (that’s Paul to you), Mush, Leese and one gf and two friends. We’re hitting up Barrossa Valley, and are then off to Kangaroo Island (voted Australia’s hottest destination in 2011) for New Year’s Eve and a few more nights. It’s going to be……wait for it……awesome!!!
You think the trip’s about to end here? Maybe we’ve had enough fun already? Pfft! I’m not even half-way through! On the 3rd we fly up to Sydney to hang out with Patrik, Seng and Maya in their new house in a place with the crazy funny name Turramurra. We’ll spend four days with them before we, yet again, travel back across the Tasman Sea – this time to NZ’s South Island and the town Nelson where my good friend Mike lives with his family.
I stay there for a few days, but A only for two
I leave NZ on the 18th, to head up to Shanghai where I’ll visit Anna for a few nights. I’ll be back home “for good” on January 22nd. So…have a good end of the year everyone – I’ll see you down under or next year! Cherio.
[...] and as I was about to set off on my big trip in December, I spelled it out for the first time (Time to go wandering!). We’ve essentially lived together since then, but have only shared the same address [...]
